My name is Tanya Mazurkiewicz, I study design at the Victoria University of Wellington and plan
to major in interior architecture.
The aim of my first modelling project was to create a cardboard and wire model using only cuts and straight lines.
The drawing which responds to the model was created by a mixture of linear lines and planes.
The overlapping lines create depth and the smudging which radiates in a controlled manner creates and interesting effect.
This made the drawing more interesting by being able to create different effects with the same media.
By having the smudging controlled and coming together in the centre it creates a target which attracts the viewer eye.
By using the hatching technique the image starts to jump out at you and adds a three dimensional feel.
The positive and negative space attracts the attention to the core of the drawing.
It’s the composition of the lines and planes that make this drawing successful.
